StorMagic, a UK-based developer of iSCSI SAN management software, has announced that John McArthur has been appointed to its board of directors.

McArthur is co-founder and president of consultancy firm Walden Technology Partners. Walden offers strategic advice and outsourced business development services. Prior to starting Walden, McArthur was group vice president and general manager of the Information Infrastructure and Enabling Technologies group at IDC.

In this new role, McArthur will work with the StorMagic management team to accelerate and expand the company’s position in the market. He commented in a company statement: “At the company, I will be identifying and pursuing strategic partnerships, assisting in the development of go-to-market strategies, and helping guide StorMagic’s evolution into a successful leader of the SMB iSCSI SAN market.”

StorMagic provides storage management software solutions that automate and centralize the management of existing storage resources of small and medium organizations. The company is focused on bringing enterprise-class storage benefits to SMBs with a cost-effective solution. Its software solution helps SMBs store, share, manage and protect data through a single interface. With the solution, end-users do not have to purchase additional hardware and software to benefit from comprehensive and non-disruptive data migration, consolidation and management.
