Custom Cells Itzehoe (CCI), a German developer of electrode foils, rechargeable accumulators and battery systems has received fresh capital from High-Tech Gründerfonds to support the company’s growth.
CCI produces individual energy storage systems based on lithium accumulator technology. This special cell construction technology makes it possible to tailor the systems for niche applications such as prosthetics, weather stations, satellites, drill head sensors, unmanned underwater vehicles or concept cars. Coating and production systems are used to manufacture plug-in energy storage systems, but also intermediate products such as electrode foils or lithium accumulators.
The company can adapt the performance features and specifications of the energy storage systems to the area of use at the chemical, cell and energy storage system level. For example, the cells can be optimized for a high level of intrinsic safety or shock and shake resistance. CCI offers vacuum- or high pressure-tolerant cells as well as amagnetic cells. These special battery systems are therefore suited for applications under extreme conditions in the oil and gas industry, in the field of medical technology, in the aerospace industry or for specialized measuring devices.
