By Tornado Staff

eBuddy, a Dutch provider of web and mobile instant messaging (IM), has added two advertising sales directors to its London sales team. James Males and Lucy Russell will have responsibility for sales and channel development for the company’s UK operations. They will focus on expanding the advertising base and revenue streams with existing and new clients, as well as on building client relationships and creating new business development opportunities.

Males and Russell both previously worked as advertising sales directors, EMEA for Heavy.com, a destination and video company for men of 18 to 34. Males has also held advertising sales positions with ATM:ad, Warner Howard Media and Clear Channel International. Russell’s additional experience includes time worked at Sift Media and BBC Worldwide – beeb.com in both sales management and business development roles.

eBuddy created an independent, browser-based IM service, which the company extended to mobile in June 2007. Its technology enables visitors with AIM, GoogleTalk, MSN, MySpace and Yahoo! IM accounts to chat free of charge in one, aggregated interface. The mobile IM solution offers both a J2ME and browser-based IM service and allows user’s access on their mobile phone, independent of carrier or device via WAP or mobile Internet browser.
