Kadrige scores €3.7 million in funding and a new CEO
Kadrige, a French specialist in providing SaaS e-detailing and e-conferencing solutions to the health care industry, has secured €3.7 million in a Series B round. The company also announced the appointment of Hubert Catanese as its CEO.
Founded in 2002, Kadrige develops product promotion, e-visit and online training software solutions for sales forces in the health care industry. With the tools sales people can upgrade a classical medical visit to a so-called ‘hybrid model’. With this model, health care professionals can mix face-to-face promotions of medication with online presentations that combine Internet and telephone. The company describes a growing need for its products as the pharmaceutical industry is subjected to increasing R&D costs, government demands and competition from generics. As a result the industry aims to improve sales force efficacy and productivity. Today’s second-round investment was led by CM-CIC Capital Privé and Kadrige’s existing backers Matignon Investissement & Gestion and H2i. The proceeds will allow the company to expand its worldwide presence, sales channels and product development initiatives. It plans to boost its investments in research and development by reinforcing its team and deploy a new commercial strategy to fit the needs of its international customers.
The plans will be realized by Kadrige’s new chief Hubert Catanese. He will be responsible for defining the company’s strategy, developing the business in France and international markets and increasing its market share. He will also play a strategic role in the recruitment of technology alliances and sales partners.
Catanese has co-founded and led several French and US startups. Previous jobs include a 15-year spell at Sun Microsystems as sales & marketing director in France, Europe and California; VP worldwide sales at CRM and call center solutions company Contactual; and VP of sales and marketing of middleware company Meiosys. In 2005, he co-founded and led data integration startup Medience, which was acquired by Business Objects one year later. Most recently, Catanese was CEO of Reportive, a French business intelligence software company targeting the pharmaceutical industry, which was acquired by Cegedim in 2008.
