KineMatik announces new labeling module along with enhanced navigation capabilities

New release of eNovator adds barcode printing and scanning, enhanced auto-numbering, and graphic navigation

San Diego CA, 1 October, 2008– KineMatik, the provider of eNovator, a software solution for managing Life Sciences R&D knowledge, information, and processes, announced the release of eNovator Labeling, a new module in the eNovator software suite, along with enhancements to the existing eNovator Navigation and Object Identifier modules. Both the new and enhanced modules support all existing eNovator modules or any OpenText Livelink environment.

The new eNovator Labeling module adds advanced label design, printing, and barcode support to eNovator or Livelink environments. Samples, materials, equipment, or any other item can be labeled and easily tracked. Barcodes incorporated into label designs make data capture and search quick and easy. eNovator Labeling helps reduce errors in label creation, label information is clear and legible, and detailed audit trails provide the history required to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations.

Key features of eNovator Labeling include:

Graphical design tool for quick and easy label design
Support for all industry standard barcodes including RFID
Library of standard labels to speed label creation
Object attributes in eNovator or Livelink can be mapped to label fields and barcodes ensuring accuracy of printed labels
All labeling activities including creation, printing, and re-printing are captured in audit trails helping maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
Local and remote printing is supported.
Permission based access ensures users only see labels and printers appropriate to their role, job description, or the item to be labeled
Searches in eNovator or Livelink by can be initiated by scanning label bar codes

“The new eNovator Labeling module will help our customers easily and efficiently track the physical items they are already managing in eNovator or Livelink. Documents, equipment, lab samples, materials, or any other item in eNovator can be labeled,” said Kevin Keenan, Vice President Software Development at KineMatik. “The advanced design, barcode, and print capabilities in eNovator Labeling enhance the value of any new or existing eNovator or Livelink installation.”

The new release of eNovator Navigation extends the innovative module developed to help users navigate complex Livelink environments. This new release adds Image Maps to complement the existing Navigation Wheel. The new Image Maps in eNovator Navigation lets users quickly and easily navigate to any location in the repository by simply clicking a graphic image on the map. Image Maps can be used to model organization structures, product structures, geographic locations, or any other type of taxonomy or structure. With one mouse click a user displays the map from any screen in eNovator or Livelink. With a second click on the Image Map, they are instantly transferred to the appropriate location in the repository.

The new release of eNovator Object Identifier enhances the flexibility of the auto-numbering identifiers for all eNovator modules. Now identifiers can be created for objects and applied system wide, or only to specific nodes and their children. Additional options for defining identifiers using user id’s, dates, and enhanced formatting are now provided. Creation and configuration is easily done via the Livelink Administration module.
