Avinity Systems and Virgin Media demonstrate next-generation user experiences at Cable Congress 2009
Greatly simplifies deployment of interactive TV applications

Berlin, March 16, 2009 – Avinity Systems and Virgin Media are working together to explore how the digital TV platform could evolve and allow for engaging, next generation entertainment and on-demand services.

Avinity’s RenderCast™ platform can bring rich media experiences – such as Flash - to existing customers. The platform is network-based and streams the user interface, enabling interactive services and access to on-demand content over any network to any existing twoway Set-Top Box. Whilst traditional interactive TV applications have to be integrated into each individual operator network and platform, applications can now be deployed on network based servers.

“This approach to application deployment greatly reduces cost and complexity of launching and managing rich media content for both content provider and operator” says Ronald Brockmann, CEO of Avinity. “Existing Set-Top Boxes support new user experiences as well, greatly reducing the capital expenditure for the operator.”

Avinity is demonstrating at Cable Congress booth 13.
