Hotbed appoints head of client services
Appointment comes as Hotbed grows its membership base of High Net Worths by 10% in just six months

November 25 2009

Hotbed, the UK’s leading private investor syndicator, has appointed Georgina Barber as Head of Client Services.

Georgina was previously a Strategy Specialist within BT Global Services’ Global Banking business unit where she managed the company’s relationship with over 150 corporate clients, including major investment and retail banks, reporting to BT’s board.

Georgina’s appointment follows on from a period of rapid growth in Hotbed’s membership base of private investors. In the past six months alone Hotbed has increased its membership by 10%, to reach 800 High Net Worths. Hotbed expects this rate of growth to continue as private investors become increasingly drawn to the attractive investment opportunities in private companies and commercial property now coming on to the market.

Hotbed was launched in 2002 by Gary Robins, a former 3i investment director. Its unique investment model enables individuals to invest directly in private equity and commercial property opportunities that have been sourced and managed for them by the Hotbed team. Investors can pick and choose which investments they wish to participate in and all investments are available in standard units of £25,000.

In her new role as Head of Client Services Georgina will be responsible for further developing Hotbed’s client services team to deliver enhanced services to both existing and new members of Hotbed.

Gary Robins, Chief Executive of Hotbed, comments: “Our commitment to building and maintaining close links with our members has been key to Hotbed’s success, enabling us to clearly identify the investment opportunities of interest to them. Georgina’s arrival will further our ability to communicate with our members on a one-to-one basis, particularly as the number of new members joining us continues to increase rapidly.”

“Georgina brings with her a wealth of experience and an impressive track record in representing and communicating the needs of clients and we are delighted to welcome her to the team.”

Georgina Barber says: “Hotbed is a unique company with a friendly approach whose success relies on the strength of its relationship with its investor members. I look forward to working with Hotbed and forging an even closer working relationship with Hotbed’s investor members.”
