NorthCap Partners raises is third venture capital fund

Copenhagen, 27 June 2012

Venture capital company NorthCap Partners establishes new fund for investment in technology entrepreneurs

The Danish venture capital company NorthCap Partners recently completed the process of
raising capital for its third investment fund. This latest fund has Euro 70 million in capital and will
over the next 3½ years invest in up to 20 pioneering technology companies. NorthCap Partners
invests in start-up companies, contributing capital and experience in internationalisation.

“There are many talented management teams in technology start-ups that we would like to work
closely with in business development and internationalisation. Specifically, we aim to work with
entrepreneurs to speed up commercialisation through internationalisation. The objective is to
quickly establish a profile and position that enables further growth, drawing on our international
network of venture investors. Every member of the NorthCap team has extensive experience in
the internationalisation of technology companies,” says Thomas Weilby Knudsen, Partner at
NorthCap Partners.

“As with the preceding funds, we are seeking a 10-fold increase in revenue from the companies
we invest in within 4 to 5 years. The bar is set at this level to match the leading technology
companies globally. Not every company has succeeded, but the average annual revenue growth
for NorthCap Partners portfolio companies from 2007 to 2011 was nearly 50 percent, so we
believe that we have established a model for successfully meeting our ambitions.”

NorthCap Partners has received capital from the European Investment Fund, Vækstfonden,
Danica, Dansk Vækstkapital and a number of private investors. The first start-up company to
benefit from the fresh capital is the recently founded Falcon Social, which develops software to
help large companies manage their presence in social media such as Facebook, Twitter, and
YouTube. “Falcon Social has already started hiring the first new employees,” concludes Thomas
Weilby Knudsen.

“It is gratifying to see our investments channelled out to some of the most talented
entrepreneurs, who can create growth, development and jobs,” says Lars Nørby Johansen,
Chairman of the Board for Dansk Vækstkapital.
