East of England still thriving as technology hub according to new PricewaterhouseCoopers map

The result of a collaborative project between Library House, the Cambridge based research and data services comp any and PricewaterhouseCoopers, the map illustrates the range of technology companies present in the region. It includes the corporate logos of a selection of businesses in the area, as well as illustrations of some of the more prominent institutions and landmarks, in order to highlight the diversity of the companies present in East Anglia both in terms of technologies and stages of growth.

Clive Birch, senior partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers Cambridge, said: 'We are delighted to have been able to work with Library House and the designers, Mousetank Limited, on this project and are very pleased that the results of our initiative support the perception of the region as a global technology hub.'

'The map illustrates not only the number of high profile companies headquartered in the region, but also an encouraging pipeline of new companies.'

'PricewaterhouseCoopers has been an established member of this community for more than twenty years and we continue to remain committed to the area.'

Charles Cotton, director of Library House, said: 'Our aim was to highlight the exceptional growth and diversity in East Anglia. While maps are defined by geographic boundaries, our brief was to go beyond any specific landmark or point of geography and to capture the environment and spirit of innovation that abounds in this region.

Whilst we have chosen not to include every company contributing to this unique atmosphere, we have achieved our objective to illustrate that there is a continuing environment of entrepreneurship which Library House and PricewaterhouseCoopers are pleased to be a part of.'

A reception was held at the headquarters of Library House to officially launch the new map with those companies who had agreed to participate, and celebrate the continued success of the region.

One of the attendees, Steve Palmer from Zeus Technology Limited commented: 'It's nice to have a clear illustration of how successful this region is and to show that perhaps it's Cambridge, UK rather than Cambridge, Massachusetts that leads in innovation.'
