PolyTechnos offers separate ITC & Life Science investment vehicles

After having raised two successful hybrid funds since 1998, PolyTechnos has decided to evolve from its hybrid fund strategy and offer separate dedicated ITC and Life Science investment vehicles for its third fund generation. This move, which has been taken by other European VCs, is intended to better address investors’ asset allocation preferences and positioning in the market.

PolyTechnos Founding Partner, Dirk Kanngiesser, comments, “Asset allocation in European VC has changed over the years, from geographically-focused to sector-defined allocations. In order to address this change, we are offering separate vehicles for ITC and Life Science, while maintaining co-location of the respective teams in order to ensure know-how transfer in deals that involve both disciplines.”

While the ITC vehicle will continue under the PolyTechnos name PTVF III, the new Life Science vehicle will be marketed under a new name, to be announced shortly. The management of PolyTechnos’ existing funds, ETLP and PTVF II, will be unaffected by this change.
