Nujira Welcomes William Sweeney to Board of Directors
Mobile Wireless Infrastructure Veteran Bolsters Board of Power Amplifier Technology Innovator

7 March 2006, Cambridge, UK – Nujira Ltd, the Cambridge based company developing advanced power amplifier technology for the wireless industry, has expanded its Board of Directors with the appointment of William Sweeney. Ex-executive vice president of worldwide sales and marketing for REMEC, Sweeney brings significant industry knowledge and more than 20 years of international management experience to support Nujira’s business development activities.

“Nujira’s high power high accuracy tracking (HAT™) technology is the most innovative and interesting technology for addressing the power amplifier efficiency problems facing the 3G network operators,” stated William Sweeney. “Demand for Nujira’s HAT modulators which achieve 30%-50% power amplifier efficiencies in 3G cellular basestations has already resulted in a number of contracts with infrastructure OEMs. Nujira is rapidly establishing itself as a technology leader in solving the power amplifier efficiency problems associated with the increasing demands of the 3G networks. I am looking forward to working with the Nujira team to further define its strategy and develop their global business.”

Mr Sweeney is an experienced executive with over 20 years of international management experience in the telecommunications industry. He was most recently executive vice president of worldwide sales and marketing at REMEC, a designer and manufacturer of high frequency subsystems used in the transmission of voice, video and data traffic over wireless communications networks, where he grew corporate revenue from $186M to $500M. Previous to REMEC, Mr Sweeney was vice president of sales at a start-up providing LMDS point-to-multipoint wireless solutions. From 1992 to 2001, he was Director of Market Development at Cisco Systems with global responsibilities for packet switched technologies and products for the Global Service Provider market. Mr Sweeney holds a Bachelor of Economics from San Diego State University, California.

“Bill has an extensive breadth of skills and experience and he will be instrumental in growing Nujira’s business,” stated Tim Haynes, CEO of Nujira. “His strong relationships and contacts within the cellular infrastructure industry will help grow our customer base and take Nujira forward in becoming a global market leader. Bill’s particular strength in sales, marketing and business development will be key in accelerating Nujira’s business development activities with the infrastructure providers. We are fortunate to have someone of Bill’s calibre and industry contacts to support us as we continue on our path of growth.”
