3G TV and Rich Media Interactive Services Now Integrated With Mobile Broadcast TV in A Single User I

Streamezzo, the leading provider of rich media solutions and platforms for mobile communications, today announced that its Rich Media Software platform now delivers a seamless, integrated environment for converged unicast and broadcast TV services, along with integrated interactive rich media services. Wireless operators can now offer user-requested streaming media services over the data network, like video-on-demand (VOD), alongside mobile broadcast TV services, in a single, tightly-integrated environment including Electronic Service Guide (ESG) and interactive services.

As rich media services have developed and evolved in parallel with an array of mobile networking standards and protocols, wireless operators and content providers face major hurdles in their efforts to develop and deploy rich media service offerings. Streamezzo’s Rich Media Software suite provides a complete, integrated platform for the delivery of unicast and broadcast services that can be integrated in all network environments, including DVB-H, DVB-SH and MediaFLO on the broadcast side, and Edge, UMTS, HSDPA, WIFI and WIMAX for unicast. Additionally, Streamezzo supports the industry’s broadest possible array of mobile devices and operating systems, including: Nukleus, Brew, Windows Mobile 2005, all Symbian platforms, all Mobile Java platforms, Rex and most proprietary operating systems.

“As evidenced by our recent partner demonstrations with Alcatel at the 3GSM conference and with Qualcomm at CTIA Wireless 2007, we are committed to the goal of seamlessly supporting the diversity of standards and operating systems,” said Naresh Soni, EVP of R&D for Streamezzo. “Mobile video services in particular represent the future of our industry, and today’s announcement should signal our intent to remain the industry leader in the area of standards compliance and integration.”

As a result of Streamezzo’s tightly integrated support for unicast video, broadcast and rich media services, end-users can enjoy mobile TV broadcasts and VOD in the same familiar interface as their 3G applications, such as music or ringtone downloads. Mobile TV is coupled with ESG functionality and interactivity within services like: program guides, voting, purchases, rich media browsing, subscription services, rich media browsing and more.

“In this complex and competitive arena, mobile operators are demanding complete platform solutions, comprehensive service offerings, flexible integration with existing systems and a high level of interactivity and standards compliance,” said Alain Blancquart, president and CEO for Streamezzo. “Our goals revolve around these customer needs, and ensuring ubiquitous support for the industry’s broadest range of devices, operating systems and network technologies.”
