WEEWORLD LAUNCHES CUSTOMIZABLE ROOM WITH BLOGGING AND SEARCH CAPABILITIES
The only online social site that provides a palette for people to socialize & express themselves

Boston, MA & London, UK, September 18, 2007 – WeeWorld, a popular online community focused on visual self-expression, today announced its newest feature, WeeRoom. Already known for its wildly popular avatar, the WeeMee – over 17 million WeeMees have been created worldwide – WeeRoom is a natural extension of the WeeWorld experience. It provides a groundbreaking way for users to connect through the objects they treasure, value and place in their rooms.

Creating and customizing a room on WeeWorld is similar to creating a WeeMee – in just a few clicks you can create something uniquely yours that expresses who you are and what you are interested in. Choosing from a variety of objects including furniture, wallpaper, flooring, lighting, art, pets, books, sporting equipment, games, music and more, users, place, move, and resize their favorite objects and build a space that is all their own. Then, with the support of blogging and search, they can describe their lives and search for and interact with people that share their interests.

“We’re helping our users delve deeper into expressing who they are and finding new ways to connect with each other,” said Lauren Bigelow, General Manager US, WeeWorld. “WeeRoom is the next step in evolving the unique WeeWorld experience. Similar to the rest of the site, WeeRoom is focused on creative self expression, beautiful iconic design and a simple, almost infinitely configurable interface.”

“Our users are being quite creative,” commented Bigelow. “For example, they are role playing via WeeRoom. We had one user take objects and arranged them to create her version of ‘Alice in Wonderland.’ Another one created a dormitory room from ‘Harry Potter.’”

WeeWorld is seeing other emerging trends, such as users creating rooms that aren’t rooms, groups of people creating similar styled rooms so that they all look alike, and others expressing their passions by taking one object and repeating it over and over again … everything from cats to band posters to vampires.

In just three weeks, WeeRoom has become a blockbuster hit on WeeWorld. A new room is created every 10 seconds, and over 2.9 million objects have already been added to rooms.
